1997

Foundation

Access to Arabia (A2A) is established, marking the beginning of its journey in delivering innovative financial technology solutions to the region.

1998

Early Messaging Innovation

Launch of iMessaging, a pioneering platform supporting paging and SMS. The system enabled users to receive email snippets and important alerts directly on their mobile devices.

1999

Phone Banking (IVR), A2A iBanking® System

Launch of A2A’s first Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phone banking system, enabling customers to access information and perform transactions via telephone. Services included fund transfers, bill payments, account inquiries, and fax-based bank statements.

2002

A2A smsBanking®

Following the success of early mobile channels, A2A launched its SMS Banking platform, enabling real-time financial alerts and interactions over SMS. This became one of the company’s most widely adopted and scalable solutions.

2003

Internet Banking Platform (A2A iBanking®)

Introduction of A2A’s Internet Banking system, expanding digital access for bank customers and strengthening multi-channel delivery.

2005

Multi-Institution Deployment (A2A smsBanking® ASP Edition)

First implementation of the SMS Banking platform for a credit card processing provider serving multiple banks. This marked A2A’s first multi-institution (multi-tenant) deployment, demonstrating scalability across multiple organizations.

2007

NOSTRO Reconciliation System (A2A nrsBanking® System)

Launch of A2A’s NOSTRO reconciliation system, enhancing banks’ operational efficiency and accuracy in managing interbank accounts.

2009

SMS-Based Mobile Payments (Iraq)

Launch of A2A’s first multi-bank mobile payment platform in Iraq, based on pull-SMS technology, enabling customers to initiate transactions via SMS. This represented an early form of mobile payments in the region.

2012

Smartphone Mobile Banking A2A mBanking® System

Launch of A2A’s first smartphone-based mobile banking system, delivering a full-featured app experience for bank customers. This marked A2A’s transition into modern mobile financial services.

2013

A2A mPayment®

Introduction of a smartphone-based mobile payment platform

2014

Platform Expansion & National Integrations

First implementation of the A2A Loyalty System Integration with Jordan’s national payment ecosystem, starting with JoMoPay (precursor to CliQ) and eFawateer This phase strengthened A2A’s position within national financial infrastructure.

2020

A2A eWallet Platform

First implementation of the A2A eWallet system, introducing a flexible wallet platform capable of supporting multiple deployment models.

Continued Growth of SMS Banking
