About Us
History As one of Jordan’s pioneering companies in the field of Internet-related services, Access to Arabia first emerged through the strategic union of:
This merger successfully equipped Access to Arabia with an impressively wide customer base (over 100 clients) and a unique team of technicians and professionals unmatched by any other company in Jordan. The purpose of the new setup was to provide the following:
By March 1999 the popularity of the A2A portal had raised to approximately 5 million hits per month, Access to Arabia had accumulated an impressive mélange of customers, and A2A’s technical expertise in Internet-related areas had emerged as a leading force within Jordan. Around this time, however, Access to Arabia began to undergo fundamental changes as the limitations of the local market became increasingly evident to company strategists. Hence, a new vision was established, one focusing on long-term research and development with the objective of expanding into regional markets. A total restructuring occurred within the company, from the level of investors to that of technical staff. Although much of the Web content development originally pursued by Access to Arabia has been maintained, A2A investment has shifted dramatically from Web development to hi-tech IT projects, and from the local market to regional ones. This recent move has radically increased the profitability of Access to Arabia’s projects and augmented the pool of potential clients across the Middle East. Prior to the restructuring of the company in March 1999, Access to Arabia’s total capital was valued at JD 30,000. Following the cash injections that were placed in the company, the total capital was raised to JD 300,000.
Access to Arabia Today Access to Arabia today specializes in serving the financial sector. As can be seen from the figure below, the company has been effective in diversifying the media through which the financial institutions can communicate with their customers and vice versa. Innovative communications solutions are no longer limited to Internet-related technologies, but have flowed into more popular and practical communication media such as pagers, mobile phones, PDAs, Kiosks and normal telephone handsets. This is the key component in A2A’s profit potential.
